Getting Started
Cloud-hosted deployments go live within one business day. On-premise setups typically take three to five business days depending on your infrastructure. Our onboarding team handles the full configuration so your IT staff does not need to be involved at every step.
No migration is required. class24.ai installs as a plugin suite on top of any Moodle 4.1 or higher instance. Your existing courses, users, grades, and integrations stay exactly as they are. The AI features are layered on top, not a replacement.
Most educators get comfortable within a single session. The AI features are surfaced directly inside the Moodle course editor, so there is no separate interface to learn. Every plan includes onboarding sessions tailored to educators, not just system administrators.

AI Features and Capabilities
class24.ai runs on its own private AI, built and maintained by our team specifically for educational use. For institutions that prefer to use their own AI provider, we also support integration with external providers such as GPT-4o (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), and Gemini (Google). Your data stays within your environment regardless of which option you choose.
The AI can generate quizzes from uploaded materials, summarize lectures, answer student questions in context, and provide structured feedback on written assignments. It can also suggest learning paths based on individual performance. Each feature can be enabled or disabled per course by the educator.
You can upload PDFs, DOCX files, PowerPoint presentations, plain text files, and web URLs. The AI reads all uploaded files together, so educators and students can ask questions that span multiple documents in a single session. Voice input via microphone is also supported.
AI-generated quizzes, summaries, and feedback go through an educator review step before they become visible to students. Nothing AI-generated is published without explicit educator approval. That review gate is built into the default workflow, not an optional setting.
Yes. The AI assistant operates in the same language as the uploaded content or the student's question. Arabic, French, Spanish, German, and most major languages are supported by the underlying AI providers. Language availability depends on the provider you configure for your institution.
Privacy and Data Security
Yes. Data is isolated at the database level per institution with no cross-tenant access under any circumstance. class24.ai is GDPR-aligned and can be deployed on-premise for institutions that require complete data sovereignty.
No. Student data, conversations, and course content are never used to train any AI model. AI calls are made using your institution's own API keys, and data handling is governed by the terms of your chosen AI provider.
Your institution holds its own API keys. class24.ai acts as the orchestration layer but never stores or retains your credentials beyond the duration of a single API request. You can rotate or revoke keys at any time from the admin panel.
Yes. Because class24.ai is built on Moodle, it runs on any Linux server, private cloud, or on-premise infrastructure. We provide assisted self-hosting with full documentation and a dedicated setup session included in the onboarding process.
class24.ai is designed to support FERPA compliance through tenant-level data isolation, role-based access controls, and audit logging. US institutions should review their AI provider's data processing agreement alongside class24.ai's own data terms before deployment. Our team can provide a compliance review session on request.
Compatibility and Integrations
Moodle 4.1 or higher is required. We test against the latest LTS release and publish compatibility notes with every plugin update. Institutions running older Moodle versions can upgrade with our support before installing the plugin suite.
AI tutoring, quiz generation, and automated feedback are available for Canvas and Blackboard institutions via LTI integration. This covers the core AI features without requiring a platform migration. Contact us to discuss your specific LMS setup.
class24.ai inherits Moodle's native SIS connectors, which cover most major providers including Banner, Ellucian, and CSV-based imports. Custom integrations beyond the native connectors are available on the Enterprise plan.
Yes. class24.ai supports SSO through SAML 2.0 and OAuth 2.0, which covers most institutional identity providers including Microsoft Azure AD, Google Workspace, and Shibboleth. Students and educators log in once through your existing identity system with no separate class24.ai account needed.
Pricing and Billing
Pricing is based on the number of active students per month, with volume discounts for larger institutions. Plans are structured across three tiers: Starter, Professional, and Enterprise. Contact us for a quote tailored to your institution's size and requirements.
Cloud-hosted plans carry no setup fee. On-premise and custom deployments include a one-time professional services engagement scoped to your environment. All plans include onboarding support and live training sessions for your team.
You will receive a reminder three days before your trial expires. If you do not upgrade, your account is paused rather than deleted. All course content and student data are preserved so you can reactivate at any time without losing any work.
Yes. Annual billing is available on all plans and includes a discount compared to the monthly rate. Enterprise contracts are billed annually by default and can be structured around your institution's fiscal year. Contact us to discuss terms.
